本书是作者近年来对三峡库区珍濒特有植物的生态学研究和保护工作理论与实践的总结。书中介绍了三峡库区珍濒特有植物的资源、分布与保护现状。在此基础上，从蕨类植物、裸子植物、被子植物等类群中按乔木、灌木、草本生活型分别选择了荷叶铁线蕨、疏花水柏枝、独花兰、银杉等几种植物，重点研究了它们的分布与生境、生活史对策、适应环境特征、种群结构与动态、繁殖技术与引种栽培要点、致濒机制与保护措施等。同时，分析了三峡工程直接淹没和移民二次开发对三峡库区珍濒特有植物的影响程度，提出了三峡库区珍濒特有植物的优先保护等级与对策，并对三峡库区植物保护的实践与成就进行了系统的总结。

The Three Gorges Hydroelectric Dam is considered as the biggest one in the world.Its effects on environments have been a hotspot.This book introduced the background of resource status，ecological geography，threaten factors，threaten categories，and academic value of rare and endangered plants in the Three Gorges Area.Of all these plants，7 species，including Adiantum reniforme var.sinense，Myricaria laxiflora，Changnienia amoena，Cathaya argyrophylla etc.，were chosen from Pteridophyta，Gymnospermae and Angiospermae.Their distribution ranges，habitat characteristics，lifecycle strategies，population ad-aptation，population structures and dynamics，regeneration and cultivation，and endangering mechanism and preservation approaches were studied.We also analyzed the impacts of flooding of the Three Gorges Reservoir，construction of roads and towns，and exploitation of immigrants on the rare and endangered plants through case studies，and gave some suggestions for efficiently preserving these plants.
