三峡工程分三期施工。2002年11月6日，三峡工程导流明渠成功截流；2003年4月16日，三峡三期RCC围堰浇筑完成，标志着三峡工程进入三期施工。2008年10月20日，三峡右岸最后一台15号机组并网发电，至此，三峡三期工程完建。《三峡工程施工技术 三期工程卷》正是分期出版的三卷本系列书中的第三卷。
